D'Arcy Hill D'Arcy has been coaching for over 20 years at all different levels and genders from grassroots programs to university teams. Most recently, D’Arcy has coached the U16 club team and the Square 1 grassroots program for several years as part of The Heat Yukon Volleyball Club, here in Whitehorse. D’Arcy has represented the Yukon as the Head Coach for all the major games: Women’s 2015 Western Canada Games Volleyball team, 2016 Men’s Arctic Winter Games Volleyball team, and 2017 Men’s Canada Summer Games Volleyball team. Prior to arriving in the Yukon D’Arcy coached at Ryerson University (new TMU) in Toronto and with the provincial and junior national programs in Australia. D’Arcy is a Trained Performance Coach (old level 3) with Volleyball Canada and is working on his Masters in Coaching and Sport Administration at Concordia University of Irvine in California. We are excited and happy to have D’Arcy’s passion and knowledge for volleyball as not only a coach for HYVC but as our President.
Corey BaxterCorey grew up in Whitehorse playing high school volleyball. She played volleyball at Arctic Winter Games and Canada Summer Games. Playing every position from libero to middle she is very well verses in the understanding of the game. She has been assisting the U13 group for the last couple years as well as running the adult drop in league.

Chanhoi KimChan grew up playing volleyball in Ontario throughout high school, university, and in several leagues around Toronto. He also played a few years of 9-man volleyball with the Toronto Ngun Lam Volleyball Club. Throughout his years, he has played every position on the court, and continues to play at every opportunity he can get.
Chan is eager to expand his knowledge of the game, to continue building his experience in coaching, and to invest in the athletes of Heat Yukon Volleyball Club. We are happy to have Chan with us as a coach and as our Vice President. Marten SealyMarten is a multi-sport athlete that played high school volleyball for the P.C. Rams and F.H. Warriors. In his primary sport, soccer, Marten competed for Team Yukon at the Arctic Winter Games & Canada Summer Games, as well as for Bishops University in the RSEQ Div 2. With 12 years of coaching experience, and a Class C License, Marten is excited to transfer his background to volleyball.

Lynn PollardLynn Pollard grew up in a small town in Saskatchewan. She has been playing volleyball since Grade 5, playing mostly setter and some right side. She had the opportunity travelled to provincials and nationals with her club team. Lynn became interested in coaching a few years after moving to Whitehorse. Lynn has completed her level one Development coach course, assisted the Wester Canada Summer Games team in 2019 and is the head coach of the U14 team. Lynn is eager to expand her coaching knowledge and help the athletes build their volleyball skills with Heat Yukon Volleyball Club.
Paige BevilacquaPaige, is 26 years old and has lived in Whitehorse since I was five. She started playing volleyball when she was 12 years old and from the moment she stepped on the court she fell in love with the sport. The game of volleyball has became her life throughout high school years. Mostly training to play as the libero position and when she was not playing libero, she then played right-side. She played both school and club volleyball where she mostly played right-side from grade eight
through 10 and libero for grades 11 and 12. In 2015, she attended the Western Canada Summer Games held in Wood Buffalo, Alberta, playing libero for team Yukon. She is very excited to have been asked to coach this year and to help teach all of the Heat players more about the sport she has grown to love. Caelon WorkmanCaelon grew up in Whitehorse and was involved in volleyball throughout her life. She participated in school and club volleyball. She also participated in Arctic Winter games and Canada Summer Games. With a vast knowledge of the game, Caelon has played a variety of positions and has been coaching in the Yukon since 2019. She has completed her Level 2 Advanced Coaching course. Most recently, she had the opportunity to coach the 2023 Arctic winter games team, as well as u17 and u18 club teams. Caelon is very excited to further her coaching experience and to help improve and expand the athletes skills and love for the game!

Steven BissSteven is a teacher, personal trainer, and volleyball player from Southeast Saskatchewan. With a father who coached since 1985, Steven has been around volleyball as long as he can remember. In high school, he played Middle and Right Side. Steven moved to Whitehorse in 2015 with his wife. Steven has been along side Heat Yukon helping the players with their strength and conditioning as they progress through their season in the past, and will be working with the U15 female group. We are excited to have Steven join the coaching group.
Amanda BartleAmanda has been playing volleyball since elementary school, club ball throughout high school, played as a middle blocker for the College of the Rockies, as well as in Switzerland on a cantonal team. Though coaching since 2006, Amanda started coaching Yukon volleyball players in 2012, and volunteered for Volleyball with the last Arctic Winter Games held in Whitehorse, and she hasn’t looked back. Amanda has coached young female “Atomic” players in grade 5, school volleyball grades 5-12, and club volleyball from U14-U18. Success in Volleyball is a team concept, and Amanda really appreciates the team aspect of volleyball in developing athletes.
Kiana PalamarBorn and raised in Whitehorse, Kiana has been involved with Yukon volleyball since 2007. She participated throughout high school and club, as well as representing the Yukon in AWG, Westerns and Canada games. Kianna has been helping coach in the Yukon 2014. Kiana has her Advanced Coaching Course, Is coaching the Arctic Winter Games team for 2024 and will be coaching the U18 this season. With many years of experience on the court and coaching, we are happy to see her out coaching with us.

Heather Mckinnon
Both a player and a coach Heather brings to the table her post secondary experiences and her Advanced Development Coaching Level. She has assisted and coached numerous age groups in Whitehorse in the last 9 years. Heather also coached the 2016 Women's Arctic Winter Games team. On top of coaching Heather helped run/organize the 2017 Yukon Championships, and ran an adult level of play in Whitehorse for a few years prior Corey Baxter taking it over. She currently sits on the Heat Yukon Volleyball Club board as secretary/ treasurer/Club Coordinator.

Past Coaches
James RussellBorn and raised in the Yukon, James grew up playing both school and club volleyball. He played for 5 years. Over the course of his high school/ club career he also got info refing and has been certified for 4 years. James has been coaching for a couple years, and took the U14 Subzero girls to BC provincials as the head coach. He enjoys coaching as he likes to pass on his knowledge of the sport to generations to come.

Mattaeus grew up involved in the sport community and has continued to follow his passion by remaining involved in youth volleyball. Mattaeus has enjoyed coaching youth soccer of all ages, grade 8 and junior basketball, track and field, and U13 and U14 volleyball. While attending the University of Victoria he became increasingly involved in sport analytics as he worked with the varsity rugby, field hockey and soccer teams. Recently, over the last 6 years, Mattaeus has been happily teaching at FH Collins and continuing his passion for coaching and sport performance while involved with high school grade 8 volleyball and the Heat Yukon Volleyball Club.
